As Canadians we enjoy a vast country of wide-open prairies, towering forests and stunning mountain vistas. Our summers are spent exploring national parks, hiking forgotten trails, outrunning rivers and biking country roads. We have the freedom to travel and appreciate this beautiful land.
Over 40 million people in our world lack that same freedom of movement. They live trapped in slavery, fixed in place by the threat of violence and by justice systems too broken to provide rescue.
We believe that Canadians can be leaders in bringing an end to violence and injustice. This summer, we challenge you to use your freedom to deliver freedom to others. In July and August, we ask that you Just Move – get active and run, walk, hike or bike for justice. Set a kilometre target and a fundraising goal to provide freedom and restoration to victims of slavery and violence.
Together, our goal is to raise $107,000. That's the equivalent 13 rescue operations - one for each province and territory in Canada, and we've already received a $25,000 matching gift provided to cover the territories! Together, Canadians coast to coast can prove that we don’t stand injustice, we move to end it.
